Summery


The book "Into the wild" Is a non-fiction book by: Jon Krakaer. It starts with McCandless' body being found in an abandoned bus in Alaska. He had been missing for two years. In his journey he got ride of his real name, and changed it to Alexander. McCandless survived for 112 days in the Alaskan wilderness. He would forage for root berries, and shot a variety of game. Through his journey kept a journal, he planed to hike the coast, but the boggy terrain was too much for him, so he decided to stay in the bus.

Jon Krakauer


Born in 1954, he grew up in Corvallis, Oregon. He graduated in 1976 from Hampshire college. Originally he earned his living as a carpenter and commercial salmon fishing. He spent most of his free time up in the Mountains. Through his life he climbed many different mountains, such as the devils thumb. He also reached the summit of mount everest, but on the decent a storm engulfed the mountain killing 4 of the 5 teammates with him. He wrote a magazine article after and got an award for it. After that Krakauer has written many different books.
